Welcome to the best resource for Waiheke Island photography
Waiheke Island Image Galleries. Photography by Cliff Schaeffer. I am still passionate about Waiheke Island after living here for 46 years and invite you to share a piece of this wonderful environment by viewing some of the images I've made over the last 30 years. When I see a piece of history or what is to become history I whip out my camera and capture the image before it's gone.... bloody developers!! That's why some of my images look .... well!! ....very ordinary. But to me that doesn't matter. At least I have a record of what exists or came before. Other times when I'm calm and relaxed I call on the Tao to give me guidance and inspiration and usually the creativity comes through. See gallery 'Cliffs View'. When I'm in these meditative states I hear nothing and see everything in front of me. Someone will often sneak up on me and holler right in my ear 'Hey Cliff what are you photographing'? It's all over then and I might as well go back to work. But it's all good and I love the challenge to record this beautiful island through my eyes. This website has been running for a few years and recently I decided to redesign and upload new photos so please be patient as new images are presented at regular intervals. There should be over 1000+ images posted within a couple of months. All of the images displayed on this website belong to me and are covered by international copyright laws http://www.wonderfulwaiheke.co.nz/Copyright/. The use of them in any way or form is prohibited. If you like and wish to use an image or can't see a Waiheke image that you want please write to me and discuss.... Tip: I often give them away if the discussion is heading in the right direction. But please remember that I do have to make a living. There are way more images stored in archives than what could possibly be displayed online. For instance... I flew a light-weight aeroplane from the early 80's for 15yrs. Did 4000 hours flying and made over 20,000 aerial images of Waiheke. These are safely stored as medium format negatives, transparencies and digital files. This part of my story is half told and to hear the rest you are welcome to drop me a line and start a discussion. http://www.wonderfulwaiheke.co.nz/contact/
